Dean Cali

Agency Principal

Dean has an extensive tenure at Wasco Insurance spanning since 2012, during which he has consistently demonstrated his proficiency in the insurance field. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business from Bloomsburg University and successfully completed his Masters in Business Administration from Misericordia University in 2014. Dean assumed the mantle of ownership at Wasco Insurance in 2019, succeeding his cousin and exemplifying his leadership acumen. Dean concentrates on different areas of insurance, including commercial property and liability, workers compensation, surety bonding, life, and all aspects of personal insurance.

Dean is a licensed Property & Casualty Agent in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, and Florida.

Joseph McCarthy

Joe McCarthy, a North Scranton native, brings a legacy of discipline, determination, and dedication from his illustrious career as a professional baseball player to his role in the insurance industry. With over a decade of experience on the field, Joe understands the importance of teamwork, strategy, and resilience—qualities that smoothly translate into his commitment to providing exceptional insurance solutions tailored to his clients’ needs.

Drawing from his experiences on the field, Joe approaches insurance with a strategic mindset, emphasizing teamwork, trust, and integrity in all his client interactions.

Rachael Galea

Commercial Lines Department Manager

Rachael is a dedicated professional with over ten years of experience in the insurance industry, specializing in both personal and commercial lines. She thrives on solving puzzles, particularly when it comes to navigating the intricate details of insurance, where every challenge presents an opportunity to craft the best solution for clients. Outside of work, Rachael is a proud parent to two little boys and enjoys exploring creative outlets, particularly through painting.

Joseph Amendola

Commercial Account Manager

Joe is a seasoned professional with over 35 years of commercial property and casualty experience and enjoys long-standing relationships with the carrier marketplace. His in-depth knowledge and expertise in the insurance industry have been honed through years of hard work and dedication, earning him a reputation as a trusted advisor to his clients.

In addition to his impressive career, Joe is also a master gardener, specializing in vegetable and perennial gardening. His attention to detail and commitment to cultivating beautiful, healthy plants is a reflection of his approach to his work as an insurance agent – always striving for excellence and delivering the best results for his clients.

Elizabeth Virbitsky

Commercial Account Manager

Liz is dedicated to helping businesses find the right commercial insurance solutions to protect their operations, assets, and employees. Before joining the Wasco team, Liz managed the office operations at a local campground and then got her start in the industry serving the nation’s top summer camps. She recognizes the importance of tailoring coverage options for businesses of all sizes. From startups to established enterprises, Liz is committed to delivering trusted, reliable advice and ensuring each business has the unique protection it needs to thrive.

Outside of her professional career, she enjoys spending time in the outdoors, and can often be found at the stable with her horse.

Cassidy Rivera

Personal Lines Account Manager

Cassidy is a Dunmore native who is deeply dedicated to building strong, lasting relationships both professionally and personally. As a licensed life insurance agent and experienced account manager, Cassidy brings a detail-oriented approach to each client interaction, ensuring their needs are met with care and expertise. Outside of work, Cassidy is a passionate gymnastics coach, sharing their love for the sport and helping young athletes reach their full potential. When not working or coaching, she enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Alaina Lengner

Personal Lines Account Manager

Originally from South Canaan, Alaina brings a well-rounded background and a thoughtful approach to customer service. Before joining Wasco Insurance, she worked in multimedia marketing, where she gained valuable experience in a fast-paced environment. She’s committed to helping clients and is looking forward to growing her knowledge in the insurance field.

Outside of work, she enjoys painting, spending time at the horse stable, and going for walks with her puggle, Tatertot.

Jay Cali

Accountant

Jason is responsible for the accounting, analyzing, and preparation of records at Wasco Insurance. Jason’s work experience in the financial sector includes providing commercial lending services related to assisting small business, public entities, and non-profits nationwide.

Jason is a graduate of Bloomsburg University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Misericordia University where he earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration.

Jason resides in Jefferson Twp.with his wife Sara and daughter Libby.
